Kate and Exploration

My hubby's family lives almost 2 hours away, so when we visit we always stay for the whole weekend.  And this particular weekend was right at the cusp of Fall.  So naturally we had to go to a nearby campground/park and explore.....and take pictures.  It was a perfect day.  Not too warm, not too cold.  And the leaves, yes, they were pretty!  My sister-in-law had been wanting to do a little photoshoot with me and this was the perfect opportunity.  Not to mention I had just bought a new lens and was quite eager to officially try it out!  We hiked around in the mountainous woods (Kate and I lagging far behind everyone else as we stopped, posed, and snapped away).

After the hike we ventured to the creek to explore some more.  My hubby's youngest sibling, Justin, who is seven, kept adding more and more sticks and leaves to his ever growing collection.  He had quite the rustic bouquet by the end of our adventure!  When we seemed to have seen all there was to see, and our babe started to get grouchy and hungry, we decided it was time to head back to the house and have some coffee.  Days like that are what Fall is all about.  Beautiful leaves, warm sun, crisp air, family, and coffee with no real agenda.

My boots.  I'm so in love with them!
Uncle Lee and my cutest little Jude <3
Jude was getting grumpy by this point of our day!  So this is as cute of a shot as we could get of him in the leaves! Haha
I love moss.
Bebe and his Mummie ("Mummie" is PA Dutch, aka: Amish, for Grandmother)
Justin and his giant leaf!
These little mushrooms were so adorable.

Justin's rustic bouquet of sticks and leaves.
He was very proud of it!
Aunt Kate needed to steal some moments with my little man when we got back to the house :)
He's happy as a clam :)
